Cervical cancer takes more than 10 years to develop, so there is a long time to detect, treat and cure it. This infection does not produce discomfort or symptoms, therefore, the way to know its existence is through screening.
Early detection program for breast cancer of the Community of Madrid
Breast cancer is a major health problem, affecting one in 10 women in their lifetime. The frequency of occurrence of this type of tumor increases with age. We cannot prevent it from appearing, but we can detect it when it is small in size, and cure is achieved in more than 80% of cases. Mammography is the best early detection test currently available. With it we can detect 90-95% of tumors, even if they are very small.

In the Canary Islands there is a network of specialized public services for the social care of victims of gender violence, with services on each island, free and confidential, where all forms of gender violence and sexual violence are attended to.
To access them it is not necessary to file a complaint. All women can ask for help or information, whatever their situation, circumstances or nationality.
